though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but
the wicked stumble when calamity strikes. Proverbs 24:17
At one point in my life, I was trying to get out of sin and
start serving God again (if you would like to know more about this, private
message me). This scripture was one that
I continued to repeat to myself every time I would mess up. Now, that I am dealing with a huge sin in my
life, gluttony, I once again am meditating on this scripture.
“What if you have fallen more than seven times?” You may ask.
Remember, that when Jesus was asked if we should forgive seven times, he
said ‘no’ seventy times seven. This
means that in the new covenant, you may fall fifty times in your over eating but
as long as you continue to get back up and try again tomorrow, you will someday
make it.
